Brian Seehafer N9ATQ

Dean Andrewjeski K9PT

Paul Nelles K9DB

Ken Rupe K9VXX

The meeting was called to order at 19:21 CST by President Rich Maier KC9NW.

Secretary’s Report: K9DB

  • Minutes of the meeting of 7 February 2007 were accepted as presented.

Treasurer’s Report: N9ATQ

  • There is $2,101.86 in checking.
  • N9ATQ is working on updating the roster. Members who’s dues have lapsed will be reminded. Regular users of the system who are not members will be encouraged to join.

Accepted as amended.

President’s report:

  • The VHF and UHF antennas have been moved approximately 100 feet higher on the candelabra, and to the southwest leg of the tower. The tower strobe noise has been eliminated. Coverage to the west has apparently eliminated the coverage null. No VHF or UHF problems in downtown Wausau as feared.

K9PT reported on the cost of the installation:

  • The bill from OK Tower Service, Inc. for moving the antennas, brackets, and feedlines, is for $4000. The job was verbally estimated at $2000 but the tower crew took two days, twice the estimate.

K9DB reported on the status of grant requests.

  • K9DB has mailed a request to the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin for the release of the $2000 awarded to the RMRA in December of 2005. If obtained this money will earmarked for the outstanding balance on the tower installation.
  • K9DB has an application in progress to the Mid-Wisconsin Foundation for funding the Brighton project.

  • N9ATQ and K9VXX suggested several other grant sources, and will obtain the necessary forms.

BRARA Swapfest at Colby, April 28th:

  • The Black River Amateur Radio Association has offered the RMRA a table at the swapfest at Colby, April 28th. K9PT and K9DB will work on an RMRA display.

K9PT reported on a request for IRLP access:

  • Christian Reynolds at the Green Bay Weather Service Office has requested access to the 444.30MHz repeater IRLP system.  Previously, this was questionable since it would have involved divulging the system password.
  • KB9RFB has set up a script file that will allow Reynolds to access the system without having to divulge the password.

K9DB reported that he used 911 autopatch about a week ago and it worked well.

K9DB will be updating the website this weekend.

Meeting adjourned  20:45 CST.

Respectfully Submitted,

Paul Nelles K9DB
