Old Business:

Brighton Repeater:

  • N9ATQ reported that the Educational Communications Board has not received the payment for the Brighton tower lease for 2010. KC9NW said he mailed it in early February. N9ATQ reported that he has checked with the bank and the check has never cleared. N9ATQ reported will send a new check.
  • K9PT reported that the antennas and transmission line for the 144.81/145.41 repeater were installed on July 2nd. The repeater went on the air on July 5th.
  • K9PT reported that he had paid the $1500 to the tower crew, and has requested re-imbursement.
  • Additional expenses were $300 for specialized connectors.
  • The total project ran about $1500 over budget. For now that expense has been covered by K9PT, although he hopes to be reimbursed.
  • K9DB reported that the repeater has been well received in Medford, and at La Crosse National Weather. WX9ARX at La Crosse NWS used the repeater to contact TaylorCounty during the recent storm on July 14th that dumped up to four inches of rain and spawned at least one tornado in the area.

Repeater Controller:

  • No work has been done on the controller in the past month.

New Business

Leibelt currently owns the repeaters outright and wants to turn ownership over to an organization. No action was taken until more details are available.
  • K9DB is working on a formal Transfer of Ownership document.

Possible Repeater at Wyeville

  • WX9W inquired what it would take for the RMRA to deploy a repeater on one of his generator towers on his cranberry farm north of Wyeville in MonroeCounty.
  • K9PT reported beteen $2,000 and $3,000. He later revised that figure upwards.

Topics from the Floor:
