The meeting was called to order at 18:21 CDT by President KC9NW. 


Secretary’s Report: K9DB

  • Minutes of the last meeting of 19 February 2012 were read and approved as corrected.


Treasurer’s Report: N9ATQ

  • No report since N9ATQ was absent.


Old Business


Rib Mountain Systems:

146.22/.82 Repeater

  • No outstanding technical issues or changes.


449.3/444.3 Repeater:

  • No outstanding technical issues or changes.


New Controller:

  • No outstanding technical issues
  • K9PT has changed some voice IDs to allow proper IRLP operation. Hang time had been causing a problem.


Brighton Repeater:

  • No outstanding technical issues.
  • K9PT reported to the best of his knowledge the Wisconsin ECB has received the 2012 lease check. He did not know if it had been cashed.


Coloma Repeater

  • No outstanding technical issues or changes.



D-STAR Systems

  •  K9PT reported that the DSTAR system hung up in the past month. KB9RFB clean up some files and that appeared to resolve the problem. I was not clear if this was related to the recent software upgrade to the D-STAR Plus software. He will continue to monitor.



  • K9DB reported that he has the Telemetry newsletter for March 2012 ready. A proof copy was emailed to the board members this past week. It will be emailed this week to all members and all other possible. He also reported that he is working on the June 2012 edition.


Letter to Newly Licensed Amateurs and Tri-fold:

  • K9DB announced that the letter to newly licensed Amateurs informing them that they are entitled to a complimentary one year membership in the RMRA is ready. He had emailed a copy to the board the previous week. He also announced that the “tri-fold”, an introductory information sheet on the RMRA is ready. That also had been emailed to the board. The tri-fold is intended to be mailed to prospective Hams, but can also be used as a handout at swapfests, etc.


RMRA Web Site:     

  • No report since KC9LFG was absent.


New Business:


  • None



Board Member Round Table:


  • K9DB announced that on May 20th, the date of the May board meeting, there will be a partial solar eclipse at sundown. He asked that the board consider meeting an hour early at 17:00 CDT.
